This is a list of some of the historical centers, museums, farms, and other institutions that offer field trips for home school families during the year. If you or your group is interested in attending them, you will need to contact them directly. Website links are included below.

Buchanan Log House

Home of the annual Alabama Civilian Corps Encampment, with Quilting, Basket Weaving, Blacksmithing, Wood Carving, animal demonstrations, hands-on experiences for the kids, and plenty of vendors.

Deep Sea Mission

It continues to be the main attraction for science shows and attractions for children of all ages in middle Tennessee, hosting many exciting and educational permanent and rotating exhibitions throughout the year.

Honeysuckle Hill

For a great field trip during the Fall months, plan to visit this pumpkin farm which features a popular corn maze and other fun outdoor activities for the kids (and home school parents too!). And don't forget the hay rides.

Gentry Farm

A family tradition for many families in Middle Tennessee. This family farm is open to the public on the weekends in the Fall to celebrate all the harvest season has to offer. They offer a large pumpkin selection as well as a pick-your-own pumpkin patch (while they last!), this is separate from the well-known activity area.

Come pick out your pumpkin, go on a hay ride, see the farm animals, have fun in our play area and enjoy the harvest fun! Food and beverages available: pumpkin fudge, chocolate dipped cheesecake, roasted pumpkin seeds, or how about a funnel cake.

Bottom View Farm

Our annual fall festival every October. Traditional events, such as the pumpkin patch, train rides, and activities for the children. It's a working farm, so there's a ton of stuff to see and experience. Note: the best time for the general public to visit is weekends. Activities are open and running.

Sam Davis

These popular living history field trips play host to over 1,000 elementary students each day and feature more than 20 historical demonstrations. With hands-on activities and captivating re-enactors, students learn about 19th century life and it's many wonderful characters.
